Holiday Stories

The stories on this category are a little different.

Unlike the others, when I publish these, they’re not 100% complete. I’ll be working on these every year during their corresponding months instead!
These are holiday stories, which I work on every year on their months (which will be listed at the very beginning of the post). When they’re done, I’ll include what year they were completed, right under the project & start year at the beginning!

Happy Holidays!

Note: I’ve noticed I have a pattern of publishing every WIP (work in progress) holiday project on the 15th (ides, anyone?) of the corresponding month, for the first time specifically.

Glade of a Winter’s Moon

This is a December project (started 2023) and the more elaborate successor of Dappled Aerie. The glittering snow held a strange, almost bitter chill to it, even despite its glory; even while the rest of the night was silent, eerily dark, all that Lysaphia could focus on was the glowing feather. A feather of gold it was. It wasn’t long before she could see that the glittering, illuminant feather had landed silently upon the ground, insignificant in sound but notoriously remarkable in composition and appearance; nothing could be heard of...

Dappled Aerie

December holiday short story– 2023  The snow was falling in luminous shades of green and purple; as the borealis danced across the vast, dark night sky, one could only note the frigid winds and magnificent lights surrounding one, snow-dappled, lonesome tree. Alone in the ice-clad hills of what seemed to resemble a semblance of a meadow. None could see the shadow of the creature that lived within, though many spoke of it. A creature known for emerald-dusted wings of glittering radiance; one rumored to have jewel-like eyes that could...

This short story is a sort of a Mirage trilogy holiday special. It is not an official part of the Mirage trilogy, nor is it a part of any spinoffs that may be produced in the future. Whether or not you have read the trilogy, you can use this story to help [better] get to know the characters. Thanks! =) December special–started 2021   The day was 18 Asterin. The winter solstice. Spirit Star. The snow now was gently falling outside. Winter graced Tethoris with a frosty embrace not like that of a blizzard (or far worse than that) but...

Realm of Paradox

November Project–Started 2021  The world has many faces. Some show benevolent vales with small humble hamlets, and the others… Well, the others are more of a sinister sort. The waves crashed against the boat’s hull. “Säde?” Kathika looked around the dark cabin. Her sister Säde uncovered her ears. “That was too loud, Kathika.” “I know.” “Where is he?” asked Säde, looking around the dark. The ringing in her ears continued evermore. “The ship captain?” “Yea.” “Above deck. Mom came back from up there...

House of The Cauldron

(October Project– started 2021)   In a land plagued with eternal night, where no stars shine in the sky, candles are the only source of light for many villages; anywhere else is in complete, utter darkness. To the residents of this world, darkness isn’t just where the unknown find solace. Darkness, in this world, is where monsters hide to ambush their victims. It is best to drive darkness away from anywhere anyone would deem safe. This is what she knew. Valda was raised her whole life knowing this. She was taught, it was...

Polar Star

(December Project—started 2020)   Beyond the bustling cities and lively suburbs lies a forest that had been untouched for years. It appeared to be two feet from the Arctic Circle, and thus snow always befell the region. The air was crisp with the smell of pinecones and frost, and at night the stars bequeathed their beautiful light onto the snowy ground with increased willing. There were no digital clocks and very little analog clocks, thus whoever wandered throughout this wintry forest relied on the sun, moon, and stars throughout...
